Georgian Townhouse (Children’s Bedrooms)
When my client moved into a beautiful period townhouse, creating dream bedrooms for their two sons was the first priority. The brief called for rooms that would grow with the boys and make the most of every inch of space.
To stretch the budget (essential with a full house renovation on the horizon), we opted for IKEA Pax wardrobes, enhanced with clever upgrades to achieve a bespoke, built-in look. Architectural details like the bay window and recesses were maximised with shelving and a cosy window seat. These additions provide extra storage, a perfect spot for reading, and a space to display treasures.
Existing beds were retained, while new furniture choices, such as desks, storage ottomans, and chests of drawers, were selected with longevity in mind. The eldest son’s room features a grown-up palette of dark blue and tan, while soft blues and greys create a restful haven for the youngest.
